On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee of the Global Alcohol Policy Conference, we would like to thank the 1,216 participants from more than 50 countries who attended the Conference and who participated in the 5 plenary sessions, 24 concurrent sessions, the 4 Workshops, and the 6 field visits. Hopefully, the knowledge exchanged and the social networking that occurred will have a lasting impact on the advancement of managing alcohol related problems around the world.

Special thanks goes to our 4 co-hosts, international and local co-sponsors, co-lead rapporteurs, rapporteurs, declaration drafting group and their writing team that produced the "GAPC Declaration". This will be one of the lasting legacies from the Conference. Based on the enthusiastic affirmed by the participants at the closing session, the declaration is now positioned to provide global leaders with a strong rationale and key guidelines for implementing global strategy on alcohol policy.
